9. Cloud Version Backup Practices
If Customer uses a Cloud Version of RestoreIQ, Pelagic Studio may maintain backups or redundancy according to its then-current operational practices.
Unless otherwise stated in a written agreement:
backups are maintained for disaster recovery and operational continuity, not as a customer-controlled archive;
backups may not allow restoration of a specific deleted item, file, project, account, or historical version;
backup frequency, retention, storage location, and recovery methods may change over time;
recovery may not be available for user error, accidental deletion, overwritten data, corrupted uploads, failed imports, or unsupported actions;
Pelagic Studio does not guarantee that all Customer Content can be recovered; and
customers should maintain independent exports and backups of important project data and media.
10. Local Version Backup Responsibilities
If Customer uses a Local Version of RestoreIQ, Customer is responsible for:
local device security;
operating system updates;
local database files;
local media files;
export files;
backup configuration;
cloud-sync folder configuration, if used;
external drive backups, if used;
local encryption settings;
access controls;
disaster recovery; and
restoration of data after device failure, deletion, corruption, malware, or user error.
Pelagic Studio may provide backup/export features or guidance, but unless otherwise agreed in writing, Pelagic Studio is not responsible for recovering locally stored data.
11. Customer Backup Recommendations
Customers should regularly export and back up important RestoreIQ data, especially:
project summaries;
vehicle details;
assembly and subassembly records;
part and inventory records;
vendor and purchase records;
budgets and expenses;
schedules;
media files;
receipts and documents;
generated reports;
PDF exports;
Book Studio layouts;
final print files;
AI-generated captions and narratives selected for use; and
any records needed for resale, insurance, historical documentation, or project continuity.
Recommended customer backup practices include:
export important project records before canceling or downgrading;
store copies in at least one independent location;
maintain original media files outside RestoreIQ;
periodically test that exported files can be opened;
keep a local and cloud copy for important restoration documentation; and
use secure storage for sensitive project, payment, vendor, or personal information.
12. Data Export
RestoreIQ may provide export tools such as PDFs, reports, project summaries, book files, media downloads, JSON exports, or other export formats.
Available export formats may vary by plan, product version, and feature availability.
Customer is responsible for reviewing exported files for completeness, accuracy, formatting, and suitability before relying on, printing, sharing, selling, publishing, or storing them.
13. Data Retention During Active Subscription
During an active subscription, Pelagic Studio generally retains Customer Content as needed to provide RestoreIQ, subject to technical limits, plan limits, storage limits, legal obligations, this Policy, the Privacy Policy, and the Terms of Service / SaaS Access Agreement.
Pelagic Studio may apply storage limits, file size limits, project limits, media limits, usage limits, or retention limits based on subscription plan.
14. Data Retention After Trial Ends
After a trial ends, Pelagic Studio may suspend access to the trial account and Customer Content.
Unless otherwise stated at trial sign-up or required by law, Pelagic Studio may retain trial data for a limited period to allow conversion to a paid subscription, support inquiries, or account reactivation.
Recommended GTM/V1 default:
Trial data may be retained for up to 30 days after trial expiration, then may be deleted or made inaccessible.
Customers should export any important data before the trial ends.
15. Data Retention After Cancellation or Expiration
After cancellation, expiration, nonpayment, or termination of a paid subscription, Pelagic Studio may suspend or limit access to Customer Content.
Recommended GTM/V1 default:
Customer Content may be retained for up to 60 days after paid subscription expiration or cancellation to allow reactivation, export assistance, or account resolution, after which it may be deleted or made inaccessible.
Pelagic Studio may retain limited records as needed for legal, tax, accounting, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, backup, compliance, and legitimate business purposes.
16. Data Retention After Account Termination for Cause
If Pelagic Studio terminates access due to breach, misuse, security risk, legal risk, nonpayment, abuse, or violation of the Terms of Service / SaaS Access Agreement, Pelagic Studio may immediately suspend access to RestoreIQ and Customer Content.
Pelagic Studio may delete Customer Content after termination for cause, subject to applicable law, legal preservation needs, security review, backup practices, and dispute resolution requirements.
17. Deletion Requests
Customers may request deletion of their account or certain Customer Content by contacting Pelagic Studio or using available in-app tools.
Pelagic Studio will process deletion requests as required by applicable law and according to technical and operational limitations.
Some information may be retained where necessary for:
legal compliance;
accounting and tax records;
security logs;
fraud prevention;
dispute resolution;
enforcement of agreements;
backup systems;
legitimate business records; or
compliance with legal holds or preservation obligations.
18. Backup Deletion Timing
Deleted Customer Content may remain in backups, archives, logs, or disaster recovery systems for a limited period before being overwritten or deleted according to ordinary backup cycles.
During that period, backup copies are generally not available for ordinary customer access and are used only for backup, recovery, security, legal, or compliance purposes.
19. Media and Large File Storage
RestoreIQ may include media storage features. Media files can be large and may affect storage limits, performance, export time, backup size, and sync behavior.
Pelagic Studio may impose reasonable limits on:
file size;
file type;
total storage;
upload volume;
download volume;
export size;
media processing; and
retention of inactive or abandoned media.
Customers should maintain original copies of important photos, videos, scans, and restoration records outside RestoreIQ.
20. AI Outputs, Captions, and Generated Content
AI-generated captions, narratives, summaries, workflow suggestions, and other generated outputs may be stored as Customer Content if saved by the customer or by RestoreIQ functionality.
Customers are responsible for reviewing, editing, accepting, exporting, or deleting AI-generated output.
Pelagic Studio does not guarantee that AI-generated output can be reproduced, recovered, or regenerated identically after deletion, model changes, provider changes, software updates, or subscription changes.
21. Print, PDF, and Book Studio Files
Customers are responsible for preserving final versions of print, PDF, and Book Studio outputs.
Pelagic Studio does not guarantee that print-ready files, provider-specific files, exported PDFs, book layouts, or historical export versions will remain available indefinitely.
Customers should download and store final exports before submitting them to print providers or using them for documentation, resale, insurance, or project history.
22. Service Availability
Pelagic Studio will use commercially reasonable efforts to make RestoreIQ available, but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service unless a separate written service level agreement applies.
RestoreIQ may be unavailable due to:
maintenance;
updates;
security incidents;
third-party provider outages;
hosting provider outages;
internet disruptions;
payment processor issues;
authentication provider issues;
AI provider issues;
force majeure events;
customer device or network issues; or
other circumstances beyond Pelagic Studio’s reasonable control.
23. No Emergency or Safety-Critical Support
RestoreIQ support is not emergency support.
RestoreIQ should not be used as the sole system for safety-critical, legal compliance, roadworthiness, emergency repair, or professional certification decisions.
Customers must consult qualified professionals for mechanical, electrical, brake, steering, frame, welding, fabrication, safety, inspection, insurance, legal, or regulatory matters.
24. Changes to This Policy
Pelagic Studio may update this Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted, emailed, presented in-app, or otherwise made available through reasonable means.
The updated Policy will be effective as of the date stated at the top of the Policy or as otherwise stated in the notice.
Continued use of RestoreIQ after the updated Policy becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
