The Owner role is the best default for a solo restorer. Roles describe responsibility and can be refined later with named project contributors and reviewers.

Where your project data is stored

RestoreIQ restoration records, project media paths, budgets, purchases, workflow, evidence, and build-book records are stored in RestoreIQ's hosted Postgres database and Vercel Blob storage unless the operator intentionally exports, backs up, or sends selected data through an enabled connector.

Choose the simplest role that fits

Most first-time and DIY users should begin as Owner. Named technicians and reviewers can be added to a project later without creating concurrent user accounts.

Owner

Recommended for solo restorers

Full project access, settings, backups, contributors, and final decisions.

Project manager

Best for coordinating a shop build

Plans work, tracks blockers, reviews progress, and coordinates purchasing and documentation.

Technician or specialist

Best for assigned work

Records work, evidence, measurements, and status without needing ownership responsibility.
